Over the past 6 days I have been in Montana participating in the annual Montana BMW Riders "Beartooth Rally".
While in Red Lodge, I met a rider from Billings who neatly solved the lack of odometer issue by simply carrying a grease pencil and writing the mileage on the face of the speedo each time she gasses up!
I like simple solutions and this one is a good'un

BMW rally was very - er conservative - 190 participants and we only drank 70 gallons of beer! I kept waiting for the roar of straight pipes but it never happened. Good folks - Willie Nelson concert at the end - forest fire west of REd Lodge Sunday night put a bit of a damper on the concert. Just had to see how it would feel to run a bit harder so I rolled home without an overnight - 575 miles in 12 hours - course I was on my Beemer - guess I better take the Savage for a ride this morning to let her know she is not forgotten.
